The Gardens of the Dickert House
are truly a delight to behold. Featured on the 2003 Garden Tour of Jacksonville, they are renowned for the beauty they add
to this district filled with Historic Homes.
This Corner of the garden is named for dear friend and famous artist from England, June Mendoza who gave Betty the
feautiful bird bath. www.junemendoza.co.uk The arbor at the entrance of the garden is a mixture of antique roses and confederate jasmine. As you pass the aroma
is delightfully fragrant. As you walk the
front garden path you are treated to many unique arrangements of plants and garden art. Whether it be a simple bird bath or
a sculpture you find it surrounded by many different varieties of southern garden plants.

The swing on the pergola also offers a peaceful
vantage point to watch the world go by. This cool retreat is covered by Roses and Jasmine. This is Ms. Betty's favorite spot
to sit and read or simply relax while working in the garden.
The gated entrance to the private
back garden surrounded by hydrangeas, leads thru a brick wall covered in jasmine. The mermaid fountain has a magic quality
with a school of koi swimming about. A table provides a seating for tea or wine to be shared among friends during the day
or late at night.

Many places to relax and visit are scattered throughout the private garden. Whether you are on
the bench of the sheltered back porch or the underneath the fig or pineapple guava tree it is a relaxing and reflective experience.
The English Rose Garden is a recent addition. Gorgeous Hybrid
Roses in full bloom add a classic touch to the home. This area of the garden is wonderful to stroll about and bask in their
beauty.
Ms. Betty's garden is a special part of the visit. Share the garden with a friend or other guests for a truly memorable
experience.
